Clip-Ins Care and Maintenance

Welcome to the Natural Roots Family!

Congratulations on your new Natural Roots Premium Synthetic Clip-Ins - you've made an excellent choice for achieving those gorgeous, versatile styles! Our Clip-Ins are designed to give you that perfect look while being incredibly easy to maintain. We're excited to share some simple tips and tricks to help you keep your extensions looking fabulous day after day.

Caring for Your Natural Roots Premium Synthetic Clip-Ins

  • Gently detangle your extensions before each wear using a wide-tooth comb or soft brush, starting from the ends and working up to the clips
  • For best results, avoid heat styling as these are synthetic extensions
  • If curls need refreshing, you may use hot tools up to 250°F (120°C) maximum. Higher temperatures will permanently damage the synthetic fibers. Always test heat on a small, hidden section first
  • Do not apply any product to the hair

Wash your extensions every 10-15 wears

  1. Mix lukewarm water with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo
  2. Submerge extensions and gently swish them through the water
  3. Avoid rubbing or twisting the hair
  4. Rinse thoroughly with cool water
  5. Rinse completely with cool water
  6. Pat gently with a towel to remove excess water
  7. Air dry flat on a clean towel overnight
  • Keep extensions flat or hanging to prevent tangling
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Never store when damp
  • Remember these are synthetic extensions and will react differently to styling than human hair
  • Do not sleep with clip-in extensions
  • Avoid swimming or showering while wearing the extensions
  • Keep extensions away from oil-based products
  • Replace your extensions every 2-3 months with regular wear
  • If extensions become extremely tangled, do not force the brush through – follow detangling instructions
  • Hot water (will deform synthetic fibers)
  • Heat above 250°F/120°C (will melt the synthetic hair)
  • Oil-based products (will make synthetic hair look greasy)
  • Chlorinated or salt water
  • Heavy styling products
  • Sleeping with extensions installed
  • Brushing when wet
  • Excessive tangling that won't resolve with normal care
  • Significant shine loss
  • Frayed or split ends
  • Permanent kinks or waves where there shouldn't be
  • Clip mechanisms that no longer close properly
